I began as an apprentice to a master jeweler in 1982 while I was still in high school. I began making small repairs and honing my metal piercing skills. I have continued to learn and grow in the art of jewelry through working with other jewelers, taking classes, workshops and through trade school. In September 2011 a new chapter of my education will begin as I enter the BFA program at Temple University's Tyler School of Art.

Most of my work is made of sterling silver and 14 karat gold. I also work with many other metals as well. I employ both hand fabrication and lost wax casting, depending on the nature of the piece. In the last couple of years I have branched into ferrous metals using small blacksmithing techniques on a few pieces.

I believe that jewelry is a very personal item. Most of the pieces on my website were custom designed for, and inspired by, other people. It gives me great pleasure to know that the people who wear my jewelry are doing so because it was made especially for them.

My life is full of creativity in many things. Although I have choosen to concentrate on art jewelry as a career, I also am accomplished in other mediums such as calligraphy, drawing, painting, photography. But it doesn't stop with art for me. I believe creativity is a way of life. I have been known as a musician, a cook, an author, a sailor, a seamstress, a homeschooling mom, a board member and a dancer.
